Keeping Up

I haven't journaled or written anything in a long time. I feel in such need to do so. It's like all the progress I've made has just evaporated. Journaling is my form of meditation as long as I do it on a more or less daily basis. I started this blog for just that purpose. But I can't access it at work. And at work I don't have enough time to spend writing. So . . . I guess I should write on the weekends or in the evenings before starting anything else. But that's not it. Blogs just aren't private enough, even if I created one that was exclusively mine---one that no one else could read. There are ways of getting into it, I'm sure.

And if I had brought my laptop home, I would be journaling there right now. That's okay. I'll just have to remember next weekend. I felt as I left work, that I should bring my computer home, but every weekend recently has been so busy that I just didn't get that chance to use it. But I think I've learned my lesson. No matter what, every Friday, I'm going to bundle up the laptop and tote it home!

I failed, probably because of my indecisiveness . . . being "neither hot nor cold." It shows my true nature---the golden mein. Well, no one need fear me becoming the next Hitler, that's for sure!

Astonishment

I can't believe that it's been nearly a month since I last wrote something here. Well, it's not as if I haven't written anything at all! I have been blogging on a different site, and participating in a forum. But really . . . nothing remarkable or profound.

So what's been happening? Well, I've finally started proofing and editing the original version of The Persian---my unpublished novel. Kim has already designed the cover, so it's just a matter of proofreading the manuscript and reformatting the pages. The process has been set in motion.

I've been on Winter Break (5 days off for us 12-month school district staff, albeit not necessarily 5 consecutive days) since yesterday and have been busy at the computer. It's good. I go back on Tuesday, December 27th through Thursday the 29th---this latter day I'll be answering the phones and being receptionist at the District Office. That'll be fun . . . maybe.

Any political or social comment? I don't think so. I do wish everyone a pleasant and peaceful, if not joyous, Holy Day (or holiday), and a prosperous and rewarding New Year. For me as a Baha'i, I'll just enjoy the time off!

Another Lazy Day

Yesterday---Thanksgiving---was bitter cold, though Wednesday's snow was gone. Still even today I can feel the coldness seeping through the glass despite the storm windows; the heat is on, but really low. I guess I've got to put on more clothes. I have no desire to move in weather like this. So it's going to be one quiet day . . . how nice . . . (sigh) . . . right here in front of the computer with cup of hot tea!

But really . . . I've got some reading and writing to do---forget the housework (there's alway tomorrow, right?).

Today an earthquake centered in the ocean 330 miles east of Tokyo, causing tsunami warnings. The quake measured 7.2 and hit at around 6:30 a.m. Japan time. A tsunami did reach coastal towns on Japan’s east side but wasn't large. Most likely it didn't do much damage.

We hope all our precious friends there are safe!
